Amanda is a versatile performer, instructor, and choreographer recognized for her dynamic artistry across Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, and Latin dance. She specializes in Latin Jazz and New York Style Salsa On 2 (Mambo)—a fusion of rhythm, elegance, and expression that defines her signature style.
Her dance journey began with classical ballet, musical theater, and modern dance at the Garden State Ballet School in New Jersey, where she toured with the company. Since then, Amanda’s training and performance career has taken her across the US, spending most of her time in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York City, shaping her into a multifaceted artist with deep technical and cultural roots.
As an educator, Amanda has taught at many of New York City’s most prestigious dance institutions, including The Joffrey Ballet School, Ballet Hispánico, Alvin Ailey, Broadway Dance Center, and Peridance Capezio Center. She has served as Primary Dance Specialist at Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School in Manhattan and taught Latin Dance at The College of New Rochelle. Currently, she is a Professor of Jazz, Modern Dance, Ballet and Latin Rhythms at San José State University and also teaches Salsa at Stanford University. Over the years, Amanda has taught throughout the Bay Area at various studios including South Bay Dance Center, Academy of Classical Ballet Campbell, Dance Attack Performing Arts, Norcal Dance Arts, Bay Area Dance Center, and Menlo Park Academy of Ballet, and Castro Valley Performing Arts to name a few.
Amanda is the Founder and Artistic Director of Proyecto Mambo, an adult Latin dance training team and DNA Productions, an organization specializing in dance entertainment and education.She is also the Organizer and Host of Bay Area Sunday Social, Nueva Sol.
Her performance credits span major stages and televised events: Broadway Bares at the Hammerstein Ballroom, The Latin Billboard Awards (dancing for Don Omar), New York Knicks Latin Night at Madison Square Garden, and The New York Salsa Festival at Barclays Center alongside legends such as Willie Colón, Grupo Niche, and Eddie Palmieri. She has also appeared in productions for Telemundo, Univision, BBC Vancouver, and Fox Upfronts.
In 2022, Amanda choreographed the Broadway musical “On Your Feet”—the story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan—at Woodminster Theater in Oakland. She continues to perform and teach internationally, sharing her passion for Latin Jazz through appearances at events such as the SF Salsa Festival, NOVA Festival, Mountain Winery’s Sangria Saturdays, and Salesforce Park’s Mucho Mambo. Most recently, she performed in Jacob’s Pillow’s Artist Collaboration at The Guggenheim Museum in NYC, directed by Sekou McMiller.
Amanda is also a certified yoga instructor (Greenpath Yoga, San Francisco) and holds a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Family Studies from San José State University.
Driven by a lifelong passion for movement, music, and community, Amanda continues to inspire dancers of all ages to discover the joy, discipline, and artistry of dance.
